The article is devoted to the lexicography of the slang word. The emphasis is placed on the distinctive representations of jargon in jargon dictionaries and in mixed dictionaries that combine words from different linguistic subsystems. It is reported about the preparation of the new thematic explanatory dictionary of the latest vocabulary, dedicated to the vocabulary of unity and enmity. The article pays attention to one of the aspects of the dictionary - the principles of developing the description of jargon units. It is said the specificity of a dictionary entry is due to the belonging of the characterized word or expression to a certain variety of the national language, in this case, jargon. The components of the structure of the dictionary entry are commented. The authors believe that when lexicography of jargonisms, there is a real need for scientists to turn to the carriers of the jargon, since linguistic reflection can reveal to the researcher significant details of the interpretation of a linguistic fact, the pragmatics of its use in speech. The necessity of abandoning the use of jargon and colloquial units in the preparation of the definition of a jargon word is stated. The authors argue that the zone of equivalents and the reference zone in the structure of a dictionary entry are of great importance in the lexicography of a slang word, since embedding a word in a number of close, opposite or otherwise related words is the subject of a separate study that can reveal the features of the systemic organization of vocabulary and, in addition to among other things, to establish relationships between linguistic facts from different language subsystems.Keywords: lexicography, jargon, dictionary entry, dictionary, neologism.
