Specific Features Of Translating Scientific And Technical Texts

Translation of scientific and technical texts is one of the most relevant areas in translation studies today. In the light of expanding the scope of science and the importance of timely reception of actual information, as well as the need to disseminate scientific data obtained in the research, the accuracy of scientific and technical translation becomes one of the priorities which the further development of science depends upon. Peculiarities of research and technical literature in respect of linguistics are related not only to style but also to grammar and vocabulary. The mainstream lexical characteristic of research and technical literature is that this type of texts are rich in specific definitions and terms as well as terminological phrases together with a high quantity of lexical constructions, shortened forms and mathematical formulas.
